Clarice Elso

Clair Elso:
Coding & Composition
Designing & Programming
Games & Audio
Howdy! I'm Clair, and welcome to my portfolio! I specialize in tech design (notably systems and mechanic prototyping) and audio (production & implementation in-engine).

Music has been a centerpiece in my life for as long as I can remember. My parents are both musically inclined, and I managed to get their skills and more, teaching myself perfect pitch at age 11 and learning multiple instruments in middle & high school - thanks to strong pattern recognition and problem solving skills. While I don't have a degree in music, I've taken theory and composition classes, which along with my lifelong experience with it has honed my ears to an incredibly sharp point. Programming was a later discovery, but I've found I have a high aptitude for it. Combining the critical thinking skills mentioned before with a long history with technology and computers - thanks to my father, a career programmer and current IT director - led to a perfect storm for learning how to code.

My specialization within the games industry is combining tech programming with audio development, though I'm certainly fine with engaging with either on their own. Either way, what I bring to any project is critical thinking, strong communication skills, a boundless need to learn and understand as much as I can, and a desire to create the best and most innovative games possible with like-minded individuals.

Given that I don't have a professional headshot at the moment, here's an image of an online avatar I frequently use, made for a Dungeons & Dragons campaign.
